We offer a very special string of school horses. Our horses can be used for your very first lesson or can be competitive at the “A” shows. When selecting our school horses, we put great emphasis on safety. It is important to us that our horses have the temperament and ability to suit the needs of all of our riders.

Our lesson program has opportunities for many different types of riders. All lessons focus not only on the rider but also building a relationship between horse and rider. We specialize in balance, confidence building and enforce good sportsmanship in all our riders! We have all of our riders set goals for themselves, and we will help them achieve those goals! Private lessons are available for one on one instruction for the new rider for their first few lessons. Group lessons allow riders to have some social interaction and they can learn by watching. We occasionally give lessons the hacking trails or in the paddocks for riders who enjoy work outside of the ring. Every couple of lessons we will do a lesson on the lunge line, so riders can do some exercises to work on their balance and improve their seat.

We offer adult groups to be followed by lunch on the patio to provide a brief “get away.” We also have programs for homeschooling children that provide them with social interaction as well as physical activity and a possible p.e. credit.

Our show program can introduce the beginner rider to the horse show world with a minimum of stress. The more experienced show rider can attend the bigger shows to perfect their riding style and learn the subtleties of the language and etiquette of the show world. No matter what your goals are, our program can help you reach them with horsemanship at its finest!

In some cases your horse may be tacked up from a previous lesson, in the event your horse is not tacked up, we ask that you, please arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your lesson to groom and tack. Grooming and tacking lessons may be a part of your lesson on occasions. For the novice and beginner equestrian, a hands-on horsemanship lesson will be mandatory when deemed necessary and will take the place of one of your regular riding lessons. For safety reasons, young children must wait on the patio until they are called for their lesson. Lesson start time is prompt. Late arrivals will get the remainder of lesson time allotted to them but no more. So be on time or better yet early.

ATTIRE

Proper riding attire is REQUIRED! This includes breeches/britches/jeans, proper riding boots (if you don’t have any boots please wear closed toed shoes and we will get you into riding boots when you arrive); approved ASTM/SEI riding helmet. Riders should come prepared with shirts tucked in. Gloves are optional but recommended. Riding apparel can be purchased through Dover or Atlanta Saddlery. COUPONS

HORSEMANSHIP PACKAGE $165 ($30 savings)

(1) Evaluation (Beginner to Advanced)
(2) Horsemanship/ Tacking/ Hands-On Lessons
(4) 30-min Private Lessons
**Custom Horsemanship Packages are available. All Horsemanship packages are good for six weeks from purchase.

Our goal is to further educate students on overall horsemanship from basic horse care to tacking and untacking on their own. We also recommend for younger riders to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to adapt the concept what they have learned by observing and assist when necessary.

If an individual cannot tack or untack on his/her own, we will do our best to have a staff member or “working student” tack for you. However, tacking is a part of horsemanship and therefore a significant part of your lesson. In many cases, this will be a part of your riding lesson.

For those that choose to have their horses tacked and untacked for them, there will be an additional $20 added to your lesson fee per lesson. We also do not recommend this program if you do not want to tack or untack your horse. Please let the office know if this is the case. We want you to learn everything about horses but we understand your family may have time restraints and this might be the best option for your family.
